KLICK, our digital health solution for patients living with HIV gets two award nominations at HSJ Partnership Awards

Avegen, in partnership with Chelsea and Westminster Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, has been shortlisted for two award categories – ‘Most Effective Contribution to Integrated Health and Care’ and ‘Most Effective Contribution to Clinical Redesign’ at the HSJ Partnership Awards for Klick, our digital clinical workflow for treating stable HIV patients.

In the UK, the demand for HIV services has surged, amplifying resource and capacity challenges, especially with the evolving needs of an ageing HIV population. Klick, a digitally-enabled pathway, addresses these challenges and supports patients' access to their HIV outpatient clinic.

Sara Day, Clinical Lead, Chelsea and Westminster Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, reflecting on Klick, our digital health solution for HIV patients, says,

"Klick has helped our service mobilise and up-skill junior nursing staff to manage patients with stable health, releasing capacity for senior clinicians to focus on individuals with more complex/urgent healthcare needs. At the same time, our patients have been given more control in managing their health and navigating access to our clinic in ways that suit their lifestyle, health status, and preferences."

A Klick user echoes this sentiment:

"Klick has made the engagement with the Kobler clinic so much more straightforward. It has made it very easy to manage my clinical appointments and results."

Klick is used by more than 5,800 patients and involves a smartphone app for patients to:

  • book/reschedule/cancel appointments,
  • view routine HIV-related results,
  • request HIV medication,
  • submit pre-visit questionnaires (PVQ)
  • and/or receive care updates from the clinical team.

Avegen Digital Health Fellowship

Over the last several months, Avegen, in collaboration with the Peerr learning platform and Amazon Web Services (AWS), has actively fostered innovation in healthcare through our first  Digital Health Fellowship. This program was dedicated to driving digital health advancements specifically tailored for senior consultant doctors, aiming to transform the landscape of healthcare.

Our fellowship offered a comprehensive curriculum covering all aspects of building digital health solutions, spanning from initial idea generation to compliance, commercialisation, and strategies for securing investments.

We held our Live Pitch Event earlier this month, and the selected participants from the fellowship showcased their digital health solution concepts. The winner's announcement is scheduled for January, and the winning concept will be developed and launched on Avegen's digital health platform!

Building on our AI capabilities

We've been diligently enhancing our AI capabilities, recently unveiling an AI-powered food and drinks diary for one of our products tailored for individuals managing digestive health issues.

Additionally, we introduced an AI-powered recommendation engine embedded within TfH (our pregnancy care solution), implementing fairness and bias reduction principles to ensure equitable support for all users. These innovations reiterate our commitment to harnessing AI for personalised health solutions while prioritising inclusivity and ethical practices.
